REA Terms & Conditions

Updated July 30, 2025

Welcome to the REA Network. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your membership and interaction with REA Network ("REA," "we," "us," or "our"). By purchasing or renewing a membership, you agree to abide by these Terms in full. Please read them carefully.

1. Membership Types
1.1 Passive Membership
Passive Members may access selected local or international events, workshops, and opportunities. Availability is determined by the respective local REA board and may vary by chapter, city, and semester. Not all Active Member events are open to Passive Members.
Some opportunities may operate on a first-come, first-served basis. While REA strives to continually create value and opportunities for Passive Members, we do not guarantee a minimum number of events or benefits, and we are not liable for perceived or actual inactivity during a given cycle. Passive Members are encouraged to remain engaged and contribute to the REA ecosystem where possible.
1.2 Active Membership
Active Members (including the local Board) receive full access to local and international events, real-world projects, workshops, and REA initiatives. Active Membership entails meaningful contribution to the chapter’s initiatives, often in collaboration with the local board.
While Active Members enjoy broader access, event availability is also subject to logistical, seasonal, and chapter-specific factors. REA does not guarantee a set number of events per cycle and shall not be held liable for event limitations or changes.

2. Code of Conduct
All members, Passive and Active, must comply with the REA Code of Conduct. Any breach may result in suspension or termination of membership. The Code of Conduct is available here.

3. Membership Term & Billing
3.1 Passive Membership

  • Passive Membership operates on a semi-annual subscription basis and is automatically renewed.

  • Renewal terms and applicable updates will be communicated in advance.

  • Members may manage or cancel their subscription via our Stripe Customer Portal at: https://billing.stripe.com/p/login/6oU5kF3Na2FiaQScIC8og00

  • By subscribing, you consent to recurring billing in accordance with the pricing and schedule set by REA.

3.2 Active Membership

  • Active Membership is not automatically renewed and is contingent upon local board selection.

  • Payment is made individually at the beginning of each REA Cycle (typically aligned with an academic semester).

  • Local board decisions govern the cycle duration, participation, and membership structure.

4. Payment & Refund Policy

  • All payments are securely processed via Stripe.

  • No refunds are issued once a membership is purchased, including cases of non-participation, personal scheduling conflicts, or missed opportunities.

  • REA may, at its discretion, make exceptions only in extraordinary cases where legal obligation exists.

5. No Guarantee of Opportunities

While REA is committed to offering impactful experiences and value through membership, we explicitly do not guarantee:

  • The occurrence of a specific number of events or workshops

  • Access to particular partners, projects, or locations

  • Continued availability of specific membership benefits

Membership in REA is a contribution-based relationship. Members are encouraged to be proactive, engaged, and aligned with the mission — not passive recipients.

6. Intellectual Property
All REA content, logos, designs, educational materials, and project frameworks are proprietary to REA Network. Members may not reuse, distribute, or commercialize REA materials without prior written consent.

7. Limitation of Liability

REA Network is not liable for:

  • Changes or cancellations in event programming

  • Inaccessibility of opportunities due to local capacity or logistical constraints

  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from participation or non-participation

8. Amendments
REA reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. Updates will be published on our website, and members will be notified via email prior to renewal.
